Abu Tig Marina
The second central part of El Gouna is worth a visit. There are luxury yachts surrounded by a quiet promenade overlooking the sea. Most restaurants are open from 2 pm, so we recommend visiting one of the many nice restaurants in the evening when the atmosphere is just exquisite - whether for a great dinner or just a hookah with a drink. The local restaurants will remind you of the European ones in many ways, even in price – these are higher here.
In Marina, you will find hotels, ATMs, a pharmacy, Orange (telephone service provider), a smaller grocery shop BestWay, a barber shop, mini golf, a children’s playground, mani & pedi, boutiques, Thai massages and a fitness center. If you haven’t bought enough of your favorite alcohol at the airport, you can visit the Duty Free Shop at the Marina. In this shop, it is possible to purchase international brands of alcoholic beverages within two days of arrival upon presentation of your passport with the date of entry visa.
Fitness Center – LAX GYM is an exclusive health and fitness club that also offers amazing Thai massages and, most importantly, a perfect view of the turquoise waters of the Red Sea during your daily workout. The club also offers a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities, both indoor and outdoor. For lovers of outdoor exercise, you will find a workout zone directly opposite LAX Fitness at the tip of New Marina. It is completely free.
Abydos Marina
The older and smaller port of Abydos is located in the southern part of El Gouna and serves as an anchorage for about 40 ships. In the port, there is a service for ships, gas stations and other services for shipowners. It is a rather quiet marina. At the end, there is a wonderfully situated outdoor gym, which is our daily hiding place on days when the wind is not blowing. If you want to get from one shore to the other, you have to cross the bridge, from which there is a beautiful view on both sides.
