Downtown
Downtown, the central district, is a place with lots of restaurants, shops and bars. The town square is tiny, picturesque & in the original Nubian style with a touch of Europe. The promenades are lined with various restaurants. Downtown has a bank and several ATMs, a bus stop and a direct line to Hurghada. The bus station also houses the headquarters of Uber company with several tuk-tuks that transport people all over El Gouna. The price for a tuk-tuk is around 20–30 EGP.

BestWay and Ebaid are small but well-equipped shops with a broad selection of food. Here you will find everything you need, including food, butcher’s, household goods, various tools, a large selection of drinks in addition to alcoholic beverages.

Located close to the Bestway store. The selection of alcoholic beverages is limited, you’ll find mostly local products here (beer Stella and Sakara, sparkling wine Le Baron and Valmont)

It is possible to purchase both a sim card for a mobile phone or a data sim card with a small portable router, which will provide you with your private wifi. It is an ideal solution for simultaneous use by more people.

In Downtown, you will find 8 ATMs. 3 are right next to the drug store opposite to the supermarket BestWay. Maximum cash withdrawal is 2000–5000 EGP.

In local drug stores, you can buy almost anything. There are no recipes in Egypt, so everything is available to you. Upon arrival, we recommend buying Antinal in case of intestinal problems.

Fresh fruit & veggies
A very popular shop with various types of local fruits and vegetables. Located a short walk from Bestway. Prices here are absolutely minimal, especially compared to prices in other European countries. You definitely can’t leave Downtown without tasting mango, strawberries, bananas and pomegranate.

Small shop with a big offer of meat for good prices. The service is pleasant and the environment clean.
